An amendment to increase the penalty for interference with aircraft accident investigations. Penalties under current law consist of fines of no less than $100 nor more than $5,000, or imprisonment for not more than one year, or both. The provisions of the amendment call for fines to be set according to the provisions of Title 18 of the U.S. Code (Crimes and Criminal Procedure), or imprisonment for up to ten years, or both.
