An amendment to provide a one-time opportunity for defaulters to reenter the National Health Service Corps in order to fulfill their service obligation, and to be forgiven all or part of the financial penalties they owe the Federal Government. The amendment would encourage reentry by permitting defaulters to serve in less remote locations than most NHSC personnel, but they would have to serve for longer periods of time or repay part of the amount owed to the Federal Government.
