An amendment to strike the bill's provisions providing lump-sum payments of $20,000 to all Japanese-Americans placed in internment camps during World War II, and instead, limits restitution payments of $20,000 to adults who spent at least 3 years in internment; provides $18 per day for each adult who spent less than 3 years in internment; provides $1 per day times the age of any individual who was under 18 and who spent time in internment; and finally, specifically limits payments of any kind to persons who actually spent time in internment.
