An amendment comprised of several amendments offered en bloc to cut the bill's authorizations for Older Americans programs by a total of $108.4 million in FY 1988, $76.8 million in FY 1989, $58.5 million in FY 1990, and $73.7 million in FY 1991. In addition, the amendment also cut the bill's authorization for supportive services by $69.6 million in FY 1988 and $186.1 million over four years; cut the authorization for congregate meals by $14.8 million in FY 1988, and $38.7 million over four years; cut research by $3.0 million in FY 1988, and $7.1 million over four years; and cut community service part-time jobs by $26.7 million in FY 1988 and $136.9 million over four years. Finally, the amendment would increase the bill's authorization for home-delivered meals by $5.6 million in FY 1988, and by $27.9 million over four years; and would authorize $25 million in FY 1988 for new in-home services for the elderly with an increase of $22.2 million over the following three years for such services.
