- Purpose
- An amendment to require USDA to attribute to individual persons, in proportion to their ownership shares, any federal farm payments made to corporations, partnerships, and similar entities. The attributed payments would be counted toward specified limits, so that participation in a corporate entity would no longer allow an individual to receive payments in excess of the limits. (Under current law, established payment limits may be exceeded because a person is eligible to receive up to $50,000 in deficiency payments as an individual, plus two payments of half that amount as a member of a corporation or trust--subject to an overall limit of $100,000).
