- Amendment sought to gradually phase in a surcharge on the cost of Federal power delivered to electric utilities in Utah.
- Purpose
- An amendment to modify the provisions of the bill requiring that $5 million in annual revenues from public utilities that sell power generated by the Central Utah Project be deposited into a mitigation and conservation account with the U.S. Treasury. The amendment would require smaller payments to be phased in over several years--$750,000 in FY 1992, $1.5 million in each fiscal year 1993-1995, and $3 million in each fiscal year thereafter.
