- Amendment exempted certain tankers carrying hazardous cargo from restrictions in the bill on foreign crewmen performing longshoreman duties in the United States.
- Purpose
- An amendment to exempt certain tankers from requirements in the bill which specify that the 1986 Immigration Reform Act applies to longshore work. The amendment would exempt sanctions from being applied to employers for hiring non-immigrant alien crewmen for certain work on these tankers.
