- Amendment prohibited the Federal Prison Industries from expanding the production of certain products (textile, apparel, furniture, or footwear) until a market study, required in the bill, was completed.
- Purpose
- An amendment to prohibit the Federal Prison Industries from producing any new product that is manufactured by private textile, apparel, furniture, or footwear industries until the market study, required in the bill, has been conducted. The prohibitions would not apply to any product which was approved by the Federal Prison Industries Board of Directors on or before July 1, 1990.
