- Amendment clarified that the only individuals who could come to the U.S. temporarily while pursuing permanent admission were those who came on temporary employment visas for professional jobs or as transfers within multinational corporations.
- Purpose
- An amendment to limit the provisions of the bill which allows all persons who have applied for permanent visas to receive temporary visas. Under the amendment, such temporary visas would be limited to certain specialty occupations and employees of U.S. companies who transfer to the U.S. to work.
