- Purpose
- An amendment to require clear country-of-origin labeling for all imported perishable agricultural products. It increases from $2,000 to $50,000 the penalty for violating provisions in the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act which make it illegal to misrepresent the grade, weight, size, place of origin, or other characteristics of such products.
