- Purpose
- An amendment comprised of several amendments en bloc to: strike provisions in the bill which repeal the existing gap setting most FY 1990 State Department and USIA funds at FY 1989 levels or lower; remove the current law requirement that funds for the Board for International Broadcasting cannot be provided without prior authorization; provide that the $7.3 million authorized for the U.S. pavilion at the World's Fair in Seville, Spain also be spent for the U.S. pavilion at the World's Fair in Genoa, Italy; authorize $10 million in FY 1991 funds for the creation of a North-South Center in Florida; provide the Defense Department with the authority to finance the leasing of up to 11 UH-1H (Huey) helicopters to Bolivia and Peru for anti-narcotics purposes; and restore the Administration's authority to transfer up to 10% of military aid to economic aid accounts.
