- Amendment provided that a school district which operates a school-wide chapter 1 program and has a high concentration of former Head Start children will be given priority in its application for a Follow Through grant.
- Purpose
- An amendment to strengthen the coordination between the Chapter 1 compensatory education program and the Follow Through program. The amendment provides that school districts which operate school-wide Chapter 1 programs using a Follow Through model approach would have priority in the awarding of grants under the Follow Through program. The amendment also makes certain changes in the Follow Through program, including eliminating the current 20% local match requirement for Follow Through grants.
