- Amendment sought to provide that none of the funds provided in the Act would be used to perform abortions.
- Purpose
- An amendment to prohibit the use of any public funds to be used to pay for any abortions in the District of Columbia. The amendment strikes out provisions in the bill allowing funding for abortions in cases where the life of the mother would be endangered by carrying the fetus to term or in cases of rape and incest, and a provision which allows the expenditure of appropriations for birth control devices.
