- Purpose
- A perfecting amendment to the McCollum amendment which would allow aid to the El Salvadoran police forces for equipment and training, but specifies that such expenditures would apply toward the overall cap of $85 million on military spending. The amendment would prohibit the expenditure of U.S. aid for new firearms for the police forces, but would permit aid for ammunition and spare parts as well as for training.
