Amendments en bloc: (1) commended the President for his clear articulation of U.S. condemnation of the actions of the People's Republic of China; (2) stated that U.S. policy toward China should be explicitly linked with the situation in Tibet; (3) added language expressing U.S.concern for the future of Hong Kong; (4) instructed the Overseas Private Investment Corporation to continue suspension of any financial support to China; (5) directed the President to suspend funds available to the Trade and Development Agency for activities in China; (6) continued the suspension of the exportation to China of a variety of items, including satellites, munitions, crime control equipment, and nuclear material or facilities; and (7) provided for the establishment of the Task Force on Students From the People's Republic of China in the United States.
