- An amendment to provide that no funds can be authorized for the Advanced Solid Rocket Motor if the Advanced Solid Rocket Motor will not be available for use on the sixth space station assembly mission or earlier.
- Purpose
- Amendment originally sought to leave in tact the $1.3 billion authorized for the advanced solid rocket motor program (ASRM) but specified that if the ASRM is not available for use on the sixth space station assembly mission or earlier, then no funds are authorized for continued development of the ASRM. \ As amended by the Brown amendments (A009), the requirements in the Hansen amendment for the availability of the ASRM for the sixth mission is retained, as well as original language in the bill which specifies reduced levels for the ASRM if NASA does not receive full funding as authorized in the bill.
