- Purpose
- Amendment provides that beginning in fiscal year 1994, schools shall ensure that a portion of their work-study funds go to students engaged in community service on and off campus. \ As amended by the Coleman (MO) amendment (A016), schools are encouraged, rather than directed, to use at least 10 percent of their work-study funds for community service. \ As amended by the Unsoeld amendment (A017), up to 25 percent of the work-study funds returned to the Department of Education may be reallocated to schools with community service programs.
