An amendment requiring the Department of the Interior to prepare an "economic impact statement" regarding each of the bill's wilderness designations, as well as the establishment of the Mojave National Monument. The amendment would require the Secretary to determine that the environmental benefits acheived by such designations outweigh their economic costs, and require the Department of the Interior to compensate individuals and businesses for economic losses incurred as a result such designations.
