- An en bloc amendment consisting of two amendments which would: 1) Establish a drug testing program as a precondition for civilian employment in the U.S. Coast Guard and 2) establish a continuing program of random drug testing for all civilian Coast Guard employees.
- Purpose
- Amendments were offered en bloc and the question was divided in order to have separate roll calls on each part. \ Roll Call 215 was on agreeing to the first part of the amendment which sought to require preemployment drug testing for any person hired for a civilian position by the Coast Guard. See item numbered 553. \ Roll Call 216 was on agreeing to the second part of the amendment which sought to require the random drug testing of civilian employees of the Coast Guard. See item numbered 554.
