An amendment to modify the provisions in the bill requiring the Secretary of Commerce to submit a report on export policy to the Congress to include in the report the effects on the international economic competitiveness of the U.S. of formal and informal trade barriers, the effects on U.S. competitiveness of subsidies by foreign countries to their domestic industries, and the efforts of the Department of Commerce to reduce trade barriers.
