Description
An amendment to increase livestock grazing fees on Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service lands. The amendment calls for annual incremental increases in grazing fees to not less than $4.35 per Animal Unit Month in 1992; $5.80 in 1993; $7.35 in 1994; and $8.70 in 1995, or "fair market value," whichever is higher.
Purpose
Amendment originally increased grazing fees for domestic livestock on U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management land from not less than $4.35 per animal per month in FY 1992, up to $8.70 or fair market value, whichever is higher, per animal per month in FY 1995 and subsequent years. \ As amended by the Regula substitute amendment (A003), the above was replaced with language which requires that beginning with the 1992 grazing season, grazing fees for domestic livestock be set at "fair market" value. The fees may not be increased or decreased by more than 33.3% in any given year, compared with the previous year's fee.
