Amendment102nd Congress
An amendment comprised of several amendments offered en bloc, and made in order by H. Res. 166, to provide for a $1.9 billion funding level in FY 1992 for the space station. This figure matches the FY 1991 funding level. As offered, the amendment would provide for this funding increase in the form of offsets by holding all NASA programs to the FY 1991 funding levels (thereby shifting $1.8 billion from other NASA programs to the space station), and by cutting $250 million from HUD public housing operating subsidies that under the bill, would not be available until the last 10 days of FY 1992. Also, as offered, the amendment increased VA medical care funding by $33 million. By unanimous consent, the amendment was modified from its original form to reduce the overall cut by $33 million since the increase for VA medical care was addressed in the previous Traxler amendment.
