- Purpose
- Amendment originally sought to prohibit all U.S. military assistance to Jordan. \ As amended by the Obey substitute amendment (A003), military assistance to Jordan is permitted if the President certifies that three conditions have been met: that Jordan is taking steps to advance the peace process in the Middle East; that it is complying with UN sactions against Iraq; and that such assistance is in the interest of the United States.
