- An amendment to require that the provisions of the National Flood Insurance programs be coordinated with the existing coastal zone management programs through a notification and reporting process involving the Undersecretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere.
- Purpose
- Amendments en bloc: 1) required the Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to consult with the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in implementing the coastal erosion management provisions of the Act; and 2) created a select subcommittee to make recommendations regarding the implementation of the provisions of the Act which deal with protection of the natural and beneficial functions of the floodplain.
