- Purpose
- An amendment to provide that if at any time within 15 years after the date of enactment of the bill, the Secretary of the Navy notifies the Secretary of the Interior that permission has been granted to use lands within the area of the China Lake Naval Air Warfare Center for installation of a space energy laser facility, the Secretary of the Interior may grant a right-of-way for construction of a road to be used for that purpose. If such a right-of-way is granted, so far as is practicable, any such road shall be aligned in a manner that takes into account the desirability of minimizing adverse impacts on wilderness values.
