- Purpose
- An amendment in the nature of a substitute to the Armey amendment to retain $90 million of the $147 million of appropriated in the bill for the Market Promotion Program of the Department of Agriculture. The Armey amendment would reduce all but one dollar of the $147 million of appropriated funds for the program. The effect of the Schumer substitute is to cut the bill's appropriation by $57 million.
