Purpose
An amendment to prohibit funds made available by the Act from being used for any application for a deepwater port for natural gas with respect to which Massachusetts is designated as an adjacent coastal State under the Deepwater Port Act of 1974 until the Commandant of the Coast Guard submits a report to Congress assessing energy needs and conducts, completes and submits a report on a study on the costs of providing security for the proposed deepwater ports.
