- Purpose
- An amendment, printed as amendment No. 49, in the Congressional Record of April 28, 1998 to require States and institutions of higher education to report on information related to the quality of their teacher education programs and to require the information to be disseminated to students and others. The amendment would require States to identify insitutions where less that 70% of students pass any necessary State teacher exams, and requires low performing institutions to improve.
