- Amendment increases the visa refusal rate from 2 to 3 percent which would permit Portugal and Greece to participate in the tourist visa waiver program.
- Purpose
- An amendment, printed as amendment No. 3 in the Congressional Record of March 24, 1998, to increase to the maximum visa refusal rate from 2 to 3 percent for countries to participate in the non-immgrant Visa Waiver Program. The amendment would direct the Attorney General to ensure that national security interests is not compromised by allowing a country to participate in the program.
