- Amendment sought to increase the amount of qualified zone academy bonds which may be issued in order to promote the construction and rehabilitation of public schools; and would have deleted language authorizing educational individual retirement accounts to cover elementary and secondary education.
- Purpose
- An amendment in the nature of a substitute to provide interest-free bonds for public school construction or repair, purchase of equipment, development of course materials, and teacher training. The amendment would delete the provisions of the bill relating to the establishment of Education Savings Accounts.
