- Purpose
- An amendment, printed as amendment No. 5 in the Congressional Record of July 16, 1997, to require states that currently fund programs for homemakers, single parents, pregnant women, and programs that promote gender equity, to continue to fund the programs at the same level as in FY 1997. The amendment would also restore a requirement, not in the bill, that each state designate a gender equity coordinator.
