- An amendment, printed as amendment No. 7 in the Congressional Record of July 9, 1997, to reduce the Forest Service construction account for forest road building by $41.5 million, to $47.5 million. The amendment would also reduce the authorization for the Timber Purchaser Credit Program, which provides credits timber to companies as payment for building new forest roads) from $50 million to $1. Savings achieved would be applied to deficit reduction.
