- Amendment sought to delete certain depot maintenance provisions from the bill.
- Purpose
- An amendment to delete the provisions of the bill requiring the President to abide by the Base Closure Commission's recommendation to close Kelly and McClellan Air Force bases in Texas and California. The amendment would require the DoD to maintain its current policy of requiring there to be a 60/40 percent split of repair and maintenance work between the public and private sector for depot maintenance.
