- Purpose
- An amendment, printed as amendment No. 3 in the Congressional Record of May 7, 1996, to require the National Weather Service to review the NEXRAD radar coverage pattern and to identify areas of inadequate coverage. The amendment directs the NWS to report to Congress within one year of enactment on the feasibilty of using existing and future FAA terminal Doppler radars to provide national weather data through NWS forecasting stations.
