- Amendment establishes a five-member commission to study whether Federal law enforcement agencies are complying with existing law and constitutional protections and to report its findings to Congress within two years.
- Purpose
- An amendment to establish the Commission on the Advancement of Federal Law Enforcement to study and report to Congress and the President on certain federal criminal law enforcement procedures and events. Such a commission must report to the President and Congress within two years of enactment. The commission may issue subpoenas, enforceable in federal court, in order to gather information necessary for its inquiry.
