- Amendment provides for the establishment of a deficit reduction lock-box ledger which will credit savings made through congressional floor actions and which is intended to result in current and outyear discretionary spending reductions.
- Purpose
- An amendment to amend the 1974 Budget Act to create a series of lock-boxes to capture savings from floor amendments that cut spending in order to reduce the federal budget deficit. It includes language to give appropriators maximum flexibility to allocate the savings as they see fit.
