- Amendment sought to delete section 607 which bars illegal aliens from receiving public assistance.
- Purpose
- An amendment to strike provisions in the bill which bar U.S. citizens from receiving certain benefits through individuals that are undocumented immigrants, or legal permanent residents of less than seven years. The amendment restores current law which permits such individuals to file for benefits on behalf of eligible dependents.
