- Amendment prohibits the Department of Energy from promulgating an efficiency standard if the Attorney General determines that the standard is likely to be anti-competitive.
- Purpose
- An amendment, printed as amendment No. 70 in the Congressional Record of July 13, 1995, to prohibit any funds appropriated in the bill to fund the planning or promulgation of any new or amended standard through its Codes and Standards Program if the Attorney General determines that the standard is likely to cause significant anti-competitive effects, the Secretary of Energy determines that the benefits do not exceed its burdens, or if the proposed standard concerns flourescent lamps ballasts.
