An amendment made in order by the rule as a Manager's amendment consisting of the text of amendments printed in the Congressional Record of May 22 and 23 as amendment Nos. 9 (Burton), 14 (McInnis), 17 (Mica), 37 (Gilman), 38 (Gilman), 44 (Hoke), 70 (Solomon), and 75 (Upton), and several amendments not printed in the Record to do the following: Revises the provisions relating to diplomatic relations with North Korea; require the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee to report to Congress on recommendations for reorganization plans; repeal the authority for U.S. participation in the Interparliamentary Union; strike provisions in the bill relating to providing assistance to foreign governments engaged in espionage; providing for a feasibility study on transferring Overseas Private Investment Corp. activities to the private sector; regulate the use and control of earnings from foreign assets frozen by the President; grant asylum to citizens of Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, North and South Korea, and China who recovers an American POW or MIA; modify certain provisions relating to Foreign Export Financing, and loans to foreign governments; add language relating to expenditure reductions in the State Department after completion of required reorganization; and for other purposes.
