- Amendment sought to delete language that prohibits privately funded abortions at overseas Defense Department medical facilities.
- Purpose
- An amendment to strike the provisions of the bill that prohibit privately funded abortions at overseas Defense Department medical facilities. The effect of the amendment would be to maintain current policy that permits members of the armed forces and their dependents to obtain abortions at DOD medical facilities, provided the patient pays for the procedure.
