- Amendment provides for the creation of the Business Development and Technology Commercialization Corporation to make Federally-developed technology available for commercial use.
- Purpose
- An amendment to establish the Business Development and Technology Commercialization Corporation to make federally-developed technology available for commercial use. The amendment intends to make federal technologies available to small and mid-sized businesses. To achieve this goal, it would direct the Commerce Department to create a database of all technologies and processes in which the government has at least some proprietary interest. This database would be accessible to small and medium-sized businesses as well as large corporations. In cases of national security or cases which might violate the proprietary rights of any private interest, access to the database would be limited.
