- Description
- Amendment sought to provide fiscal year 1995 new budget authority of $1,185.6 billion; budget outlays of $1,187.6 billion; budget revenues of $977.8 billion; and a budget deficit of $209.5 billion.
- Purpose
- An amendment in the nature of a substitute which calls for $600 billion in additional deficit reduction over the next 5 years on top of the $496 billion in deficit reduction that the Congress enacted last year. The amendment seeks to achieve its deficit reduction entirely through spending reductions; it does not contain any revenue provisions. The spending reductions targeted by the amendment involve eliminating all agricultural subsidies except the dairy program, canceling the Space Station, and terminating the Community Development Block Grant program.
