Purpose
An amendment to permit states participating in the national service program to enact liability protection for national service participants and volunteers in non-profit organizations. Under the amendment, participants in the program and volunteers would be exempt from personal financial liability for any tort claim, if they were acting in good faith within the scope of their duties, and the damage or injury was not caused by willful or wanton misconduct by the participant.
