- Amendment in the nature of a substitute sought to replace the language of the bill with the text of the "Pell Grant Enhancement Act".
- Purpose
- An amendment in the nature of a substitute printed in part B of House Report 110-224 to reduce subsidies in the loan programs an d invests the majority of the savings in the Pell Grant program by providing increases of $350 in 2008 and $100 each year thereafter. It also provides a plan for improved consumer information and public accountability with respect to college costs.
