- Amendment requires the Attorney General to study and report to Congress on the establishment of a nationwide interstate tracking system of persons convicted of, or under investigation for, child abuse.
- Purpose
- An amendment numbered 14 printed in the Congressional Record to require the Justice Department, in cooperation with the Health and Human Services Department, to conduct a study of the creation of a nationwide, interstate tracking system of individuals convicted of, or under investigation for child abuse. This report will analyze the costs and benefits of different mechanisms for establishing the system and include the extent to which existing registries could be used. The report would be due to Congress within 90 days of enactment.
