- Amendment provides funds for the treatment and prevention of obstetric fistula.
- Purpose
- An amendment numbered 12 printed in Part B of House Report 109-175 to expand activities to treat women suffering from obstetric fistula to include increased acces to emergency obstetrical care; to expand activities fr the prevention of fistula from providing access to contraceptive services to providing access to family planning services; to make these prevention activities discretionary rather than obligatory; and to increase the FY 2007 authorization from $5 million to $7.5 million.
