- Amendment sought to extend the amount of time for an action to be filed in court with regard to the Speaker's announcement of a vacancy; and modify the language concerning appeals of a court decision.
- Purpose
- An amendment numbered 4 printed in Part B of House Report 108-466 to provide that any lawsuit challenging the Speaker's announcement that more than 100 vacancies exist must be filed with 7 days of the announcement. The amendment also permits any citizen of the district and any political party in the state to intervene in support of or opposition to the challenge.
