- Amendment as modified sought to allow the State of New Jersey to regulate certain trucks on roads that are not part of the national network.
- Purpose
- An amendment numbered 11 printed in part B of House Report 108-456 to preserve the authority and right of New Jersey to limit super-sized trucks to using only interstate highways, the New Jersey Turnpike and the Atlantic City Expressway unless they are traveling to a terminal or making pickups or deliveries on other roads in New Jersey. The amendment upholds current restrictions and policy and effectively affirms the right of all states to regulate super-sized trucks on roads that are not part of the designated national highway system.
