Insert at the end of title VI the following new section: \ SEC. 6__. LIMITATION ON BRIDGE ALTERATION PROJECTS. \ The Coast Guard may conduct bridge alteration projects using amounts authorized under section 101(1)(B)(iv) of this Act only to the extent that the steel, iron, and manufactured products used in such projects are produced in the United States, unless the Commandant of the Coast Guard determines such action to be inconsistent with the public interest or the cost unreasonable.
